If you visit the website for The Bowdoin International Music Festival, you will see its lineup is referred to as “Six Weeks of Great Music” – we could not agree more!
We’re lucky to have such an incredible event nearby and there’s plenty to plan for before the Festival kicks off later this month.
From the festival’s website, here are some of the highlights:
Our premier Friday night series presenting traditional chamber music and orchestral repertoire performed by artists from around the world.
A midweek series featuring Festival artists, offering a mixture of established and contemporary works in a casual setting.
Four great strong quartets, performing work for quartets alone and in collaboration with other faculty artists: the Dover, Miró, Pacifica and Ying Quartets.
Gamper Festival of Contemporary Music
A long weekend of works by living composers, including the Festival’s composes in residence, performed by Festival artists and participants.
Bowdoin Festival Extra
Lectures, masterclasses, performances and other special events featuring instructors and participants in non-traditional settings.
Artists of Tomorrow
Dozens of concerts in Studzinski Recital Hall featuring our young participants performing for an audience of their peers, instructors and the public.
Concerts held at off-site venues, offering our participants additional performing opportunities before appreciative audiences.
